Things you should back up

Being a computer guy, the idea of backing things up is obvious. Not that I do it with any regularity as I should, but it is one of the self-evident truths.

This is a not to myself to make a list of the things I should back up. (1)Firstly, this includes my own memory, as in writing a diary or a blog...
...followed by (2)contact, and (3)other, information about my family and friends. (4)Digital Pictures and videos. (5)Home projects on the computer. (6)Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.

One of my books

I'm planning to write some books some day.
This is a note for one of them.
There is no such thing as a 'bad' word. Imagine if everyone realized that. I believe it would be a very small step in the right direction.

Great Day

I assume that we all work similarly in that some days we feel really good about ourselves and some days.. not so much. Today seems like it could only have been better if Chrissy and the boys could have come along...

Woke up at 5. At work by 7. Stay with me... ;-) ...it gets better.

I love my new job. This week I had some projects I said I would finish and as of last night there was not an end in sight...

I've been having quite vivid dreams lately where I'm fighting against supernatural opponents. They have been waking me up early. This morning's one, I'd have to write a story to describe it, got me up at 5. I was tired but I new if I could go straight to work I would be very productive and hopefully get enough done that the researchers wouldn't be disappointed in me.

I watered the plants, dressed to ride my bike to the train, changed my mind, and jumped in the car. Got breakfast at Richdale's in Billerica just so I could get dollar bills to pay for parking at the train station. Made the 6:30 train.

Started reading The Fourth Turning claiming similarities in generational cycles over the last few hundred years in this country. Not sure about it yet....

At work everything just fell into place. Everything I touched just worked. It was great.

Anyone who has worked at writing software, or similar activities, for a certain amount of time have days when you know you are not doing it the best possible way and days that you know you are. Today I am. Even though my quick progress has only, so far, moved me just to the next hurdle, I feel that I'm on very solid ground.

Since I came in early I went for an early run at 11:00. Went down to the river to run the track workout that I missed this past Tuesday. 4km with 300m fast and 100m less fast. I hate running on the track (sorry to my track friends...) so I went to a google maps derivative and measured it out on the Esplanade.

Made a new friend in the shower ;-) who might run with me in the future.

Ended up coming back in time for lunch with the crew. My small dose of social for the week...

I should be able to finish a good chunk of what I had planned with the time I have left today. Then tonight the family is going swimming at the Boys and Girls Club for the benefit of Aidan getting used to the place for his swimming lessons.

Looking forward to a weekend outside with family and swimming!

Alright, back to work...

Day Well Spent

Had big plans to get a bunch of work-work done today. Did none of it.
Started out the day with an attempt before the kids woke up. Then decided to wake them up and go running at Great Brook. Spent an hour over there with them jumping in and out of the strolling. We had a blast!
Then we stopped at the library to drop off books and EmbroidMe to catch up with the Run Momma Run shirt.
Back home we spent half an hour in the greenhouse watering, retying, and moving drier looking plants to the back rows.
After the work was done we made pancakes out of only eggs, milk, and flour and had those and some fried eggs for breakfast.
Who's ready for a nap!!!!
